  • Condition: This vintage Bait Casting Spoon lure is made by the Louis Johnson Co. in Highland Park, Ill.It is in great physical condition. The 24K Gold plating has worn down a bit on the top of the spoon, but the bottom is still the color of gold. This spoon measures 2 7/16" along the blade and 3/4" wide. It has one No. 4 hook and weighs approx. 1/2oz. The bottom has the markings embossed of "Johnson's Silver Minnow" and "PAT'D 8-28-23".

    Johnson's Silver Minnow Spoon Lure, No.2 Style 1230, Highland Park, Ill.
    This vintage Bait Casting Spoon lure is made by the Louis Johnson Co. in Highland Park, Ill.
    It is in great physical condition. The 24K Gold plating has worn down a bit on the top of the
    spoon, but the bottom is still the color of gold. This spoon measures 2 7/16" along the blade
    and 3/4" wide. It has one No. 4 hook and weighs approx. 1/2oz. The bottom has the markings
    embossed of "Johnson's Silver Minnow" and "PAT'D 8-28-23".
    You can add a pork strip, frog, skirt, or any suitable material to the hook. This lure can be cast
    into pockets among lily pads, weeds, or brush, and vary the speed of the retrieve. It can also
    be fished off the bottom, using a very slow retrieve.
    Johnson's Spoons are plated with either pure silver, 24K Gold, chromium, copper, or
    black
    nickel.
